Advanse Adstudio

Advanse, a dynamic ad-design platform, required a complete UX redesign. I collaborated closely with front-end developers and other designers to improve the platform’s usability and workflow. Our process began by selecting relevant 18F methods, then progressed through sketching wireframes and building interactive prototypes.

UX Method

We began with a content audit to identify and consolidate redundant and underused options in AdStudio. The existing product contained many settings that cluttered the interface and were rarely used by customers. The audit clarified what to remove, reorganize, or prioritize and became a central reference throughout the redesign, consulted by multiple teams across the company.

Comparative Analysis

Conducting a comparative analysis revealed how other ad design platforms approached features, workflows, and user experience. This highlighted specific areas where AdStudio could improve and generated early inspiration and ideas for product direction.

UX Method

We conducted a comprehensive heuristic analysis of AdStudio to evaluate the product across established usability principles. This identified high- and low-priority areas for improvement and guided our design and prototyping decisions. The findings became a key reference throughout the project, informing solutions and validating trade-offs.

UX Method

User interviews are one of my favorite research methods. They let us step outside our assumptions and see the product through other people’s perspectives, revealing needs and pain points we might miss otherwise. For this project, we interviewed AdStudio designers, key stakeholders, and professionals with experience at direct competitors to gather a broad range of insights.

Process Sketches

We sketched both existing and new AdStudio components extensively. Rapid sketching helped the team clarify ambiguous interactions, produce low‑fidelity wireframes quickly, and iterate on planned feature additions before moving to higher‑fidelity design.

Prototype

Balsamiq - Low Fidelity Prototype

Early in the process, we produced a Balsamiq prototype to help developers visualize interactions and new features in the updated AdStudio. This was an early iteration; the design evolved significantly afterward.
